Master of World Guitar…

We’re definitely expanding our musical horizons with our next show, welcoming the master of world guitar, Pierre Bensusan.

 
Bensusan, a French acoustic guitar virtuoso, vocalist, and composer, is often referred to as Mister DADGAD”, taking his unique sound to all corners of the globe. Winner of the Independent Music Award for his triple live album “Encore”, voted Best World Music Guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine readers’ Poll, winner of the Rose d’Or at the Montreux Festival for his debut album, Pierre is recognized as one of the greatest guitar players of the 21st century.
 
When Michael Hedges titles one of his compositions “Bensusan”, you know that the inspiration behind it must be special, and Pierre Bensusan certainly is that. Guitarists from Leo Kottke to Larry Corryel, to Tuck Andress, Tommy Emmanuel, Mark Knopfler, Andrew York, Andy Timmons, Pat Metheny, and Steve Lukather have sung his praises, and Steve Vai released three Bensusan albums on his label Favored Nations. And it’s not just guitarists who are so inspired by Pierre’s music, as a recent studio collaboration with him on Donny Osmond’s latest album “Start Again” goes to show.
 
It’s truly our honor to host one of the world’s guitar greats on the Pickin’ Parlor Stage. We hope you’ll join us for what’s sure to be an evening of musical artistry and magic!

Lydia Hamby Band – Friday, October 9th@ 8 p.m. $33 A bluegrass vocalist, mandolinist and songwriter who brings a fresh thoughtful voice to the genre. A much anticipated return to the Pickin’ Parlor.

Edgar Loudermilk Band – Saturday, October 24th @ 8 p.m. $33. Edgar is a two-time SPGBMA “Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year.” Always puts on a highly energetic and memorable performance.

The Pickin’ Parlor is available for rent on all non-concert dates. This climate controlled 100-seat hall is an ideal location for your special events, including private performances, rehearsals, group meetings, family reunions…even weddings!
